Rock salt can be either brown grit salt and white de-icing salt both of which are designed to melt snow and ice efficiently and to provide a grit surface. Easily spread by hand or machine and once evenly spread over the surface it works quickly to leave areas free from ice. It will also provide a guard against refreezing and is ideal for quick de-icing of paths, steps, driveways, car parks, pavements, roads, etc. These products are not suitable for water softeners and dishwashers.
